Redfern Penthouse I
Perched above Redfern in a penthouse apartment originally designed by SJB Architects, this Class 2 renovation recasts an existing home into a highly crafted, contemporary retreat. Flack Studio’s reimagined interiors introduce a rich, atmospheric palette and a confident mix of textures—balancing sculptural form, moments of saturated colour, and finely resolved custom joinery. The design works in dialogue with the apartment’s original structure, enhancing light, flow, and liveability while creating a series of spaces that feel both elevated and deeply personal.
Horizon delivered the construction in close collaboration with Flack Studio and SJB Architects, bringing complex detailing, premium finishes, and bespoke elements together with precision. The result is a refined inner-city penthouse that pairs durability and function with a distinctly expressive interior character.

Horizon 2025 Highlights
WINNER MASTER BUILDER OF THE YEAR 2025 Master Builder AssociationNSW Excellence in Construction Awards
Horizon achieved an unprecedented milestone in 2025, winning MBA NSW Master Builder of the Year for the second time. This honour reflects our talented team, the high-quality systems refined over 45 years, our high-performance culture of collaboration and excellence, and enduring partnerships that have stood the test of time.
These awards represent our unwavering commitment to delivering the most complex projects in Sydney to exacting standards—safely, beautifully, and brilliantly.
WINNER ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS $15 MILLION+ 2025 Master Builder AssociationNSW Excellence in Construction Awards
Our Northbridge Residence II project delivered exceptional results in 2025, winning in the Alterations & Additions – $15 million and over category at the MBA NSW awards—one of the night's most prestigious honours. This extensive waterfront renovation, designed by DKC Architecture with Partridge Engineers, transformed a dated property into a vibrant family sanctuary.
The project showcased our ability to overcome extraordinary challenges: managing materials across a 2,500m² block with 50m of level change, navigating between a national park and Sydney's Middle Harbour, implementing complex piering for the boathouse, and using barge transport when tides allowed. We carved terraces from unusable bushland, built an infinity pool over a concrete-encased sewer line, and installed fire-rated steel windows—all during one of the wettest years on record.
FINALIST NATIONAL RESIDENTIAL MASTER BUILDER OF THE YEAR FINALIST NATIONAL RENOVATIONS AND EXTENSIONS $2 MILLION+ 2025 Master Builders Association National Awards
Following our MBA Excellence in Construction Awards victory, Northbridge Residence II progressed to National Finalist status, to be judged against the finest building projects from across Australia. Being selected as a National Finalist placed this project among an elite group assessed by the Master Builders Australia National Awards Judging Panel—a recognition that our approach to complexity, craftsmanship, and innovation resonates at the highest level.
This national acknowledgment reinforces what we've always known: that exceptional building isn't just about overcoming challenges, it's about turning them into opportunities to push boundaries and deliver something truly extraordinary.
Horizon Golf Championships 2025
Our annual Charity Golf Championship reached new heights in 2025, raising over $50,000 for the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse—our most successful event to date! On behalf of the entire Horizon team, we'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who joined us at this year's Championship. It was a fantastic day of golf—made possible by the support and enthusiasm of our valued clients, partners, and friends.
Held once again at Macquarie Links Golf Club, the Annual Golf Championship is one of the highlights of our year and we helped to raise significant funds for organisations that make life-changing differences to children and families in need every day. A special thank you to Macquarie Links Golf Club for hosting us and for always ensuring we maximise the funds raised for both charities.
A very special thank you also goes out to our incredible sponsors who make this day possible—many of whom have returned year after year—and to every participant who helped make this milestone possible. At Horizon, we believe that building strong relationships and supporting those around us is just as important as the work we do every day, and this event is a wonderful reminder of the positive impact we can achieve when we come together for a good cause.
Sydney Children's Hospital
We were honoured to be given a tour of Sydney Children's Hospital, where we learned about the incredible work being done by the fundation and how donations—including our contributions from this year and past events—are helping to make such an enormous difference. We saw the new hospital being built next door to the original facility, and learned how funds are also directed towards specialised wards and other vital hospital equipment. Part of tour included seeing the new recreational facilities available for children undergoing treatment, witnessing the school programs that give students the opportunity to study whilst in hospital and support programs for families going through difficult times. Meeting the dedicated staff and seeing the care provided to these children was truly inspiring and reinforced why this cause is so close to our hearts.
What Your Support Made Possible
Chris O'Brien Life House
We are proud to share the kind words we received from Chris O’Brien Lifehouse following our recent charity golf day.
"Chris O’Brien Lifehouse are incredibly grateful to Horizon for raising $25,568 at the most recent charity golf day. Horizon’s generosity will assist us to continue providing world-class cancer care and research that is promising to transform treatments and outcomes for patients. The support provided by Horizon will elevate the care we provide, through supporting vital additional services, such as specialist nurses, research, and technology. Thank you so much to everyone involved in this year’s awesome golf day. We look forward to next year’s golf day and for the Horizon team to visit our facilities to see the direct impact of their fundraising efforts! "
Horizon's End of Year party 2025
We closed out another brilliant year together at our annual end of year party—a night of celebration, reflection, and gratitude. Thank you to all our staff and guests who joined us to mark the achievements and milestones that made 2025 so special.
The evening included our annual awards, recognising outstanding contributions across the business: Apprentice of the Year, Subbie of the Year, and Project Group of the Year. Celebrating those who have been with Horizon for 5, 10, and even 15 years. Our long-standing team members stand as proof of the high-performance culture we’ve built, continually demonstrating the expertise and excellence that define our team. Their dedication to Horizon is deeply appreciated.
It's the perfect way to end the year—together, as a team, looking back on what we've accomplished and looking forward to what's ahead.
ToughTracks began when builders, frustrated by the ongoing damage to sliding-door tracks and the safety risks from makeshift ramps, decided there had to be a better way. They designed a heavy-duty, reusable ramp system that’s strong enough to handle wheelbarrows, trolleys or bins — yet portable enough to move easily from site to site. The idea: protect thresholds, reduce repair costs and make every job site a little safer and more efficient.
