6 budget friendly ways to quickly improve any kitchen

How often do you dream of a brand new kitchen with the latest appliances, ample bench space and all the bells and whistles? But instead, you put up with cramped spaces and your kitchens’ inconveniences on a daily basis?

Well, your kitchen can still be the heart of your home and a place you love to spend time in. There are plenty of easy and inexpensive ways to make small changes that have a big impact on the appearance and functionality of your kitchen.

Here are some of our favourite ways to improve any kitchen:

1) Change the taps

Taps and faucets are one of the simplest changes you can make to a kitchen, that really have a big impact. High arching taps create an illusion of space and look more expensive, and single handle faucets are modern and streamlined.

2) Change your handles

Switching old door and drawer handles (particularly if they are a knob style) for sleek, modern bar handles is more decorative and completely transform the look of your kitchen.

3) Use drawer organisers

Drawer inserts are a great way to organise your drawers and create more useable space.

4) Cover your bench tops

If you can’t replace the whole countertop with a new one, painting the bench is a good option. Even adding a large timber chopping board looks great and is functional.

5) Use wire shelves

Portable wire shelves and under-cabinet wire baskets are a simple way to organise your cupboards and use the space you have more efficiently.

6) Use lights

Not just on the ceiling! Under cabinet lights and automatic pantry lights look fantastic and put an end to searching aimlessly in a dark corner of a cupboard for that tin of diced tomatoes.

These are simple and inexpensive changes that can leave you feeling refreshed, organised and will make you fall in love with your kitchen all over again! What small changes are you making in your kitchen this year? For more ideas and inspiration why not sign up for our newsletter?
